Last week approximately 470 warning letters were sent out to residents that were suspected of cultivation activity. The letters were in response to many complaints regarding the abatement process. The community at large, requested that a warning letter as a courtesy, to avoid exorbitant abatement costs.
These letters have created a bit of a panic within the cannabis community. The letters are a request for a response. If it isn’t marijuana cultivation, then provide appropriate documentation to Humboldt County Planning Department to rectify. Otherwise it is important to weigh your options and either abandon operations or consider permitting your pre-existing cultivation prior to December 31, 2019.
